2025-04-27Metanephrines are important parameters for the diagnosis of tumors of the sympathoadrenal system.
Metanephrines, i.e. metanephrine (M), normetanephrine (NM) and 3-methoxytyramine (MT), are the primary metabolites of the catecholamines. Similar to the catecholamines, the determination of the metanephrines is used to detect or rule out tumors of the sympathoadrenal system.
